Why Granite?
Granite is the most popular solid surface natural stone these days. Granite reflects elegance and sophistication. The rich colors of the stone blend perfectly with fabrics, woods, glass and metal, allowing you to create an atmosphere of luxury at a reasonable price.

It is a highly durable, stain resistant, scratch resistant natural stone material that is particularly suited for applications requiring a high degree of durability. Synthetic solid surface materials are no match for the richness, depth, and stellar performance of real granite. Unlike laminates and solid-surface materials, a hot frying pan has no effect on granite's mirror like finish. The diamond-like hardness of granite makes it virtually impervious to abrasions, stains, and extreme heat.

Applications
Because of its durability, granite is the natural stone best used for kitchen countertops. But why stop there? Why not extend your uses of granite to a barbecue, bartop, fireplace, or to a custom tabletop? Or how about granite windowsills, door surrounds, window surrounds, or an entryway? Make your bathrooms a showplace. Begin with granite vanity tops, and continue the theme by enclosing your master tub with granite, or your steam shower in granite. Adding built-in cabinetry to your library or master closet? Why not top it off and make it truly custom by using granite for the shelves, table, or cabinetry top? Why not consider a custom granite top to revitalize an antique table and provide beauty and durability? A granite conference table or reception desk would impress your clients, at the same time providing your business with an air of elegance and success.

What is Granite?
Granite is a coarse grained crystalline igneous rock composed primarily of quartz and feldspar. It forms from slowly cooling magma (silicate melt) that is subjected to extreme pressures deep beneath the earth's surface.

Why Marble?
Marble gives any installation an elegant, romantic look, combining strength and ease of care. Colors are virtually endless, from the purest white to coal-black, brilliant reds and vibrant greens - no two pieces are alike, each formed in the earth over millions of years until quarried, cut and polished for your personal use. Marble is softer than granite and requires more maintenance to retain its finish and luster . It is not recommended for kitchen countertops.

Since no two stones are exactly alike, marble has a personality as distinct as your own. When you select a marble for your personal use, it is an expression of who you are.

Applications
Marble is an excellent choice for low traffic applications such as fireplaces, vanities, tub and shower surrounds, or walls. Marble would also be an excellent choice for windowsills, tabletops, and custom shelving. It is a perfect setting in the living room, bathroom, sitting room, library, and much more. Imagine the beauty and elegance of your master suite when you select solid surface marble wainscoting, a marble tub or shower surround and vanity; then top it off by adding a coordinating marble fireplace surround in your sitting room. Or how about marble shelving in your pantry? Combine natural beauty and cleaning ease for maximum functionality and style.

What is Marble?
Marble is a metamorphic stone that changed when limestone softened from heat and pressure and recrystallized. The change causes the minerals to go through a molten phase. For this reason marbles often have distinct swirls or bands.

Why Travertine?
Travertine is a beautiful and elegant stone that is famous worldwide. This premium quality stone varies in tone from a cream white to beige, or darker tans and even oranges and golds. Travertine can also reflect many moods - from the smooth and shiny pieces that reflect class and elegance to the rough weathered pieces that showcase the use of natural stone in all its finery.

Applications
Travertine is most often used for walls, floors, showers, tub surrounds, and vanities. It can be used in all rooms of the house, especially living areas, kitchens, and bathrooms. It can be used in slab or tile installations. A travertine shower or tub surround is a lovely addition to your bath. A wide variety of trim pieces are available in order to create your desired motif. Some other dramatic uses of travertine are for backsplashes, laundry room countertops, window and door surrounds and various interior and exterior trim applications. Travertine is not recommended for kitchen countertops.

What is Travertine?
Travertine comes from organic elements such as glaciers, rivers, wind, oceans and plants bonded through millions of years of heat and pressure. It is a dense, closely compacted form of limestone found mostly in banded layers. Most travertine is white or cream colored. It consists mainly of calcium carbonate. It forms when calcium carbonate separates from water through evaporation. Fine pores and holes are a natural aspect of travertine. As a result, travertine can be either filled or unfilled.

What finishes are available?

  • Honed - honed tile is simply a tile with a smooth matte finish. Most travertine has a honed finish. It is possible to get a near polish look with the use of sealers. Traditionally travertine doesn't polish as well as marble, which can obtain a glassy look.
  • Tumbled - this stone is tumbled with sand, pebbles, or steel bearings to create a weathered, aged finish.
  • Filled - natural travertine comes with pores or small holes where gases were once trapped. These holes are usually filled in with cement in order to create a more uniform surface.
  • Unfilled - the natural finish of the stone is unfilled, leaving pores and holes exposed.
